Awake in a World That Doesn’t Always See You

In a land of change, I walk alone,

Trying to make this new place home.
I give my heart, I try my best,
But some friendships fail the test.

I pour my care into every bond,
Expecting little, hoping for strong.
But not all people truly see
The quiet love inside of me.

Still, I rise and learn each day,
To hear my thoughts, to find my way.
To be awake is more than sight
It’s knowing what feels wrong or right.

My mind drifts far without a sound,
Like lost footsteps on empty ground.
But when I breathe and trust the now,
Life slowly shows me when and how.

The truth is simple, calm, and clear:
Not all who leave were meant to stay near.
But every pain, each lonely night,
Makes my inner world grow bright.

I listen deep, I heal in peace,
I find the strength that does not cease.
For in my heart, I finally see
What’s meant for me will never flee.

🪞 Reflection:

This poem is a reminder that life often feels heavy when we give so much and receive so little. We lose people, we question ourselves, and we walk through days where even breathing feels like effort. But being “awake” means learning to understand your own mind and heart, not just reacting to the world.

It teaches that loneliness is not the end - it is the start of discovering who truly deserves your energy. Some people don’t stay, not because you weren’t enough, but because your journey is growing beyond them.

The more you become aware of your feelings, your thoughts, and your inner voice, the more you rise into a stronger, calmer version of yourself. And from that place, better friendships, deeper peace, and true connections eventually find their way to you.

Stay tuned for more reflections and stories as we continue to explore the beauty in our individual journeys.
